Reporting directly to the Quality Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring components meet exacting customer and industry standards. You'll be responsible for CMM programming, inspection activities, quality reporting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working closely with engineering and production teams to solve problems and maintain the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Metrology: Programme and operate CMM machines, manual inspection equipment, and 3D scanning systems to carry out accurate dimensional and visual inspections on components throughout the production process
- Quality Documentation: Complete detailed inspection records including ISIRs, FAIRs, non-conformance reports, and quality logs, ensuring all results are accurately recorded and maintained in line with quality standards
- Continuous Improvement: Work closely with production and engineering teams to investigate quality issues, communicate inspection findings, and support corrective actions using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa analysis
- Quality Compliance: Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, support calibration activities, and ensure inspection processes, equipment, and working areas meet company, customer, health & safety, and environmental standards
Key Requirements:
- Technical Qualification & Experience: HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a quality role within a high-precision engineering environment
- Quality Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, with experience of AS9100 standards, ISIR, and FAIR documentation highly desirable
- Metrology Expertise: Experience using handheld measuring equipment, programming CMM machines (Mitutoyo MSCosmos preferred or PCDMIS), and operating 3D scanning systems
- Problem Solving & Communication: Confident working with customers, suppliers, production, and engineering teams, with experience using structured root cause analysis techniques and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and planning
The Opportunity to Make an Impact:
This role offers the chance to become a key part of a highly skilled engineering team, using your expertise to improve processes, maintain exceptional quality standards, and support the delivery of precision-manufactured components.
If you're looking for a role where your technical knowledge and attention to detail are genuinely valued, this could be the next step in your career. Even if you're looking to move into a programming role, or use these skills more then do apply.
