Job Title: HVAC Commissioning Engineer
Salary: Starting hourly rate negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
Location: Regular travel is required across London and nationwide. Located along M1/M4 Corridor would be beneficial e.g. Cambridge, Oxford, Hertfordshire, Bedford. A company van will be provided.

Principal HVAC are a well-established modern, progressive company, providing a professional and efficient Air Conditioning and Ventilation service to our Clients throughout the UK & ROI.
We have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team. This role will focus primarily on the commissioning of heating systems, including VRF/VRV, hybrid systems, air source heat pumps, mechanical plantrooms, and ventilation.
You will play a key role in ensuring that all systems are installed, commissioned, and operating to the highest standards of performance and efficiency. To succeed in this role, you must enjoy a challenge, have excellent hands-on skills, be a natural problem solver, and work efficiently and independently.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out programmed service visits predominantly across London, but potentially UK wide
- Respond to breakdown calls, diagnosing and resolving faults on air conditioning and ventilation systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components
- Communicate findings back to your Manager, while at all times, building, nurturing and promoting good business relationships with our clients
- Carry out pre-commissioning checks on new AC & Vent installations, taking part in handover client demonstrations
- Ensure that our customers get faults resolved professionally and efficiently, with the goal of achieving repeat business for Principal HVAC
- Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and maintained
- Ensure good relations and communication with all members of the team, providing excellent customer care in an efficient manner
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid knowledge and previous experience working with commercial air conditioning systems
- City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas Qualification required
- A good understanding of ventilation systems
- Experience working with VRF & VRV systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK Drivers’ Licence essential
- Residence in UK for more than 3 years for security clearance purposes
