Stores Coordinator
Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk
Department: Stores & Logistics
Reports To: Workshop Manager / Operations Manager
Job Purpose
The Stores Coordinator is responsible for the efficient management of all stores, inventory, goods receipt, stock movements, and dispatch operations. The role ensures that materials, components, consumables, and finished goods are accurately received, stored, controlled, and distributed to support manufacturing and project activities.
The Stores Coordinator will maintain accurate stock records, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and provide operational support and cover for other stores-related roles during periods of annual leave, sickness, or absence.
Key Responsibilities
Stores Operations
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient stores environment.
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Ensure all stock is accurately identified, stored, and recorded within the company's inventory management system.
- Maintain stock location accuracy and effective stock rotation practices.
- Pick, issue, and allocate materials and components to production, installation, and service activities.
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded and traceable.
Inventory Control
- Carry out regular cycle counts and participate in annual stock takes.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to the Purchasing Department.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions where required.
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy and inventory integrity.
Dispatch & Logistics
- Prepare customer orders, project materials, and spare parts for dispatch.
- Package goods appropriately to ensure safe transport and delivery.
- Arrange courier collections and deliveries as required.
- Produce and maintain accurate dispatch documentation.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
Stores Cover & Operational Support
- Provide cover for other stores and logistics personnel during annual leave, sickness, training, or other absences.
- Support all goods-in, stock control, warehouse, and dispatch functions as required.
- Assist with material movements between stores, workshop, production, and project locations.
- Maintain continuity of operations during periods of increased workload.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
- Comply with all Company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Operate forklift trucks and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct daily pre-use inspections of forklift trucks and report any defects immediately.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Maintain clear and unobstructed walkways, fire exits, and emergency access routes.
- Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote excellent housekeeping standards throughout stores and warehouse areas.
- Support the company's commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (FLT).
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks safely and effectively.
- Experience with stock control and inventory management processes.
- Good understanding of goods receiving, stock movements, and dispatch procedures.
- Ability to use inventory management or ERP/MRP systems.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Reach Truck Licence.
- Knowledge of engineering components, materials, and consumables.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Manual Handling certification.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
