Duties
- Prepare a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, following established recipes and standards
- Manage food preparation tasks efficiently to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Assist in plating and presentation of meals to enhance visual appeal and resident satisfaction
- Support the team in inventory management by monitoring ingredients and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism and a friendly attitude, ensuring excellent customer service
- Follow all health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for staff and guests
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a care home setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including week days, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
- Basic understanding of serving procedures and customer service principles
- Prior experience in care home setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
