Dorian is looking for a talented and ambitious Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team in Notting Hill.
We are an independent neighbourhood restaurant built around exceptional produce, confident cooking and warm, relaxed hospitality. Our food is ingredient-led and constantly evolving, with quality, seasonality and attention to detail at the heart of everything we do.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pastry chef who wants to work with outstanding ingredients, contribute creatively and develop within a highly skilled and passionate kitchen team.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef and senior kitchen team, you will take responsibility for the preparation and execution of Dorian’s desserts, pastries and other sweet elements.
You will help ensure that every dish leaving the pastry section reflects the quality, creativity and consistency expected at Dorian.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and delivering desserts and pastry elements to an exceptional standard
Contributing ideas towards new dishes and seasonal menu development
Managing the pastry section during preparation and service
Ensuring consistency in presentation, portioning and flavour
Producing breads, petits fours, ice creams, sorbets, sauces, garnishes and other pastry items as required
Maintaining excellent organisation, cleanliness and food safety standards
Monitoring stock levels and supporting effective ordering and waste control
Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
Supporting and training junior members of the kitchen team
Taking pride in every detail, from preparation through to the final presentation
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience within a quality, high-volume or fine-dining kitchen
Has strong classical pastry knowledge and sound technical ability
Is passionate about seasonal produce and ingredient-led cooking
Has excellent attention to detail and consistently high standards
Remains organised, focused and calm during busy services
Enjoys contributing ideas and being part of a creative kitchen
Is reliable, positive and committed to working as part of a team
Understands the importance of cleanliness, preparation and discipline
Wants to continue learning and developing their career
You do not need to arrive knowing everything. What matters most is a genuine passion for pastry, strong foundations and the desire to improve.
