Duties
- Assist the head chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation requirements.
- Support food preparation activities, including cooking, plating, and garnishing of menu items.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations across all kitchen areas.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times during food handling and preparation.
- Collaborate with restaurant service teams to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent guest experience.
- Assist in menu planning and development alongside the head chef, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary or hospitality environment.
- Extensive food production skills with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated team management capabilities with leadership qualities that motivate staff.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices recognised within the industry.
- Solid restaurant or hotel kitchen experience, preferably in a supervisory role such as Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.

Pay: From £33,000.00 per year
