Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Neurology Nurse to join our specialised healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients attending outpatient neurology clinics, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their visit. The successful candidate will possess strong patient care skills, a solid understanding of neuroanatomy, and experience in medication administration. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and support neurological health in a fast-paced clinical environment. The shift timings are 7AM-6PM.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care by assessing neurological symptoms and monitoring patient progress during outpatient visits
- Assist neurologists with examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests as required
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely, adhering to established protocols
- Educate patients and their families regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, and post-visit care instructions
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organisational policies
- Monitor vital signs and neurological status before, during, and after procedures or treatments
- Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with infection control standards
- Respond promptly to patient concerns or emergencies during outpatient appointments
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse qualification with valid registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body
- Proven experience in patient care within neurology or a related medical speciality is desirable
- Strong knowledge of human neuroanatomy and neurological assessment techniques
- Competence in medication administration, including injections, IV therapy, and oral medications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient support and education
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy outpatient setting
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols
