Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Cabinet Maker to join our skilled woodworking team. This role involves assisting in the fabrication and assembly of customised cabinetry and furniture, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship. Duties
- Assist in the fabrication of cabinets, furniture, and specialised woodwork according to project specifications.
- Support in the assembly process, ensuring precise fitting and finishing of components.
- Operate hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and measuring devices to carry out detailed work.
- Use power tools including drills, sanders, and routers safely and effectively.
- Follow technical drawings and plans to ensure accurate construction.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Support with additional tasks such as site preparation, minor repairs, or finishing work as required.
- Collaborate with senior carpenters and team members to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, joinery, or woodworking principles.
- Experience with fabrication and assembly processes is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in woodworking or construction environments.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and develop skills in cabinet making.
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks efficiently.
- Prior experience or knowledge in roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, or construction painting is advantageous but not mandatory.
