About the Role
CDC Group is looking for a friendly, patient and community-focused Project Delivery Worker to support the delivery of our Digital Inclusion Project.
This is an 12-month project designed to help people who may be digitally excluded develop the confidence, knowledge and practical skills they need to use technology safely and independently.
The Project Delivery Worker will provide approximately 6 hours of project delivery and administration each week, working directly with local residents through one-to-one support, small group workshops, community outreach and the development and mentoring of volunteer Digital Champions.
The role will suit somebody who is confident using everyday technology but, importantly, can explain things clearly and patiently to people with different levels of digital confidence.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Delivery Worker will:
- Deliver regular one-to-one digital support sessions for local residents.
- Deliver small group digital skills workshops within community settings.
- Support people to develop confidence using laptops, tablets and smartphones.
- Help participants develop essential digital skills including using email, accessing websites, completing online forms and using online services.
- Support people to access appropriate public, health, employment and community services online.
- Help participants understand online safety, passwords, scams, fraud and protecting personal information.
- Provide outreach support to residents who may not initially engage with traditional digital skills programmes.
- Identify individual barriers to digital inclusion and provide appropriate practical support.
- Encourage participants to become increasingly confident and independent rather than completing tasks on their behalf.
- Support the recruitment, development and mentoring of volunteer Digital Champions.
- Provide Digital Champions with guidance and practical support to help them assist other members of the community.
- Promote the Digital Inclusion Project within the local community and encourage referrals and participation.
- Develop positive relationships with community organisations and local partners.
- Maintain appropriate attendance, activity and monitoring records.
- Collect participant feedback and case studies to demonstrate the impact of the project.
- Support project monitoring and evaluation, including recording outcomes achieved by participants.
- Complete approximately the required administration associated with delivery.
- Work within CDC Group's safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection, equality and health and safety procedures.
- Undertake any appropriate training required for the role.
