An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time rotational Band 7 Radiographer post, based in busy Nuclear Medicine departments at St James’s University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. The role will involve leading the CT aspect of our imaging service, with both hybrid imaging and standalone CT services offered.
The Nuclear Medicine Department at St James’s Hospital deals with a wide range of complex Nuclear Medicine scans, including many hybrid imaging techniques, for both in and out patients. The department has 4 gamma cameras, 2 of which are to be imminently replaced with hybrid machines with increased CT capability. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in optimising new protocols and training of staff in relation to CT.
The Nuclear Medicine Department at Leeds General Infirmary provides the cardiac MPS and paediatric services, as well as some adult services. The department has 2 gamma cameras, a GE Discovery 530 dedicated cardiac scanner and a GE Discovery 850.
The candidate must have experience in a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, in particularly hybrid imaging. Substantial CT experience and a high level of CT knowledge is essential to this post. A post graduate qualification in CT and/or Nuclear Medicine (including Hybrid Imaging) is also necessary.
The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of Nuclear Medicine and require demonstrable skills in dealing with the day-to-day management of a demanding and challenging clinical service.
