We are advertising for a Cook to join our team based at our Princess House Care Home in Seaburn Sunderland.
We have a part time position available on days. This position is a permanent or bank position and will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7am-5pm. The rate of pay is £12.90 per hour.
You do not need to have previous care experience to work with us, all we ask is that you have a kind, caring and compassionate nature coupled with excellent communication skills and have a genuine desire to help others.
You will provide nutritious meals to all residents, ensuring food purchased is fresh and within budget. Ensuring all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.
As a cook you will be responsible for;
Food Preparation
1. Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals.
2. Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary and take into account preferences of individual residents.
Communication
1. Liaise with the Home Manager and the Head Cook with regards to menus, stock etc.
2. Participate in staff meetings as and when required.
Record Keeping
1. Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer and fridge temperatures
2. Ensure stock rotation
About You:
- As a Cook, you’ll have a relevant certificate in Food Hygiene, and a track record of demonstrable experience of cooking varied, healthy and safe meals to large groups on a regular basis.
- Be methodical and highly organised; the kitchen and equipment will be kept clean and tidy, with an effective method of stock rotation.
