About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to join our new nursery in Acton, London.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional to become involved from the very beginning and play a key role in setting up a high-quality nursery.
The successful candidate will initially work part-time, supporting us with the nursery registration and setup process, including preparation for Ofsted registration, policies, procedures, safeguarding arrangements, staffing requirements and operational readiness.
Once the nursery is successfully registered and ready to open, we would like the successful candidate to progress into a full-time Nursery Manager position, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
During the setup and registration stage, you will:
- Support and guide the nursery through the Ofsted registration process
- Assist with preparing the nursery for registration and inspection
- Help develop and review Early Years policies, procedures and documentation
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and Early Years requirements are appropriately implemented
- Support the recruitment and organisation of nursery staff
- Help establish effective nursery systems and daily procedures
- Advise on room organisation, resources, staffing and operational requirements
- Support the development of a safe, welcoming and stimulating Early Years environment
- Ensure the setting is prepared to meet relevant EYFS and regulatory requirements
Once the nursery is operational, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Leading, supporting and developing the nursery team
- Maintaining high standards of childcare, safeguarding and education
- Ensuring compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and relevant statutory requirements
- Supporting staff development, supervision and performance
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and families
- Maintaining accurate records and nursery documentation
- Supporting occupancy and the continued growth of the nursery
- Creating a positive, professional and nurturing culture for children and staff
- Continuously improving the quality of provision
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in an Early Years or nursery management position
- Has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements
- Has experience with, or a good understanding of, the nursery registration and inspection process
- Holds a relevant recognised Early Years/Childcare qualification
- Has excellent safeguarding knowledge
- Has strong leadership and staff-management skills
- Is confident preparing policies, procedures and nursery documentation
- Is highly organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Has excellent communication skills when working with staff, parents and professionals
- Is passionate about providing high-quality childcare and Early Years education
Previous experience helping to open, register or establish a new nursery would be a significant advantage.
