Job Summary
AROSTRANSPORT LIMITED is an established road haulage company based in Luton, providing reliable transport services to customers across the UK.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team on a permanent, full time basis, with an annual salary between £50,000 and £52,000.
Meal allowance and night out allowance will be paid separately in addition to the annual salary, where applicable.
In this role, you will be responsible for safely completing collections and deliveries across the UK using box, curtain sided and refrigerated trailers. Your driving experience, attention to safety and professional approach will help us continue providing a dependable service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles in compliance with all road transport and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough daily vehicle and trailer checks and report any defects immediately
- Complete collections and deliveries safely and within the planned schedule
- Ensure loads are secure and the trailer is safe before departure
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, PODs, inspection reports and driver records
- Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding progress, delays or any issues encountered
- Follow drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations
- Follow company procedures and customer site rules at all times
- Represent AROSTRANSPORT LIMITED professionally and take proper care of company vehicles and equipment
Experience
- Applicants must be aged 25 or over due to commercial vehicle insurance requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Valid UK HGV Class 1, Category C+E licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
- Good knowledge of drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations
- Any driving licence endorsements must be declared during the application process
- Good communication skills and sufficient English to complete transport documentation
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
