Your normal hours of work are 37.5 a week, Monday to Thursday 8.00AM – 16.45PM and Friday 8.00AM-12.30PM (this includes an unpaid 30-minute break for lunch).
Overview:
Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Mechanical Technician I, is responsible for applying mechanical skills in pipe preparation, assembly or welding. An integral part of this role is also to have a meticulous attention to detail and work to our high standard of quality, ensuring that any issues are reported. A Mechanical Technician I is someone who possesses skills within their area, but they are not fully competent and still require some supervision. These skills are reviewed by the Production Manager against the Skills Matrix which breaks down the exact skill requirements for a Mechanical Technician I, II, III, and IV.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Must be able to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
· Must be able to cut and prepare pipe to 0.5mm tolerance in a range of tube sizes.
· Must be able to Orbital weld 1/4” manifolds competently and produce an average of 12 welds an hour.
· Must be able to QA and Test manifolds, this includes pressure test and helium leak test.
· Liaise with Team Leaders/Supervisors on the progress of work.
- To keep areas clean, tidy and adhere to Company health and safety procedures
Person Specification:
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, a high level of dexterity and capable of work to precision tolerances.
- Competency in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
- Able to follow clear and precise procedures/instructions.
- Practical training will be given therefore candidates must be willing to learn, develop and be open to new working practices.
- Good communication and team skills are essential.
- Good timekeeping.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
