Estate Gardener - Ascot, Berkshire£35,000+ DOE + Bonus
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estate Gardener to join the team responsible for maintaining a beautiful 36-acre private estate in Ascot.
This is a hands-on role within a passionate and knowledgeable gardening team, offering the chance to work across a diverse landscape including formal gardens, herbaceous borders, wildflower areas, ponds, mature trees, hedging and extensive lawns.
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and has previous professional gardening or grounds maintenance experience.
The Role
Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will assist with the day-to-day maintenance and ongoing development of the estate grounds, helping to ensure the gardens are presented to an exceptional standard throughout the year.
Duties will include:
- Garden maintenance and presentation
- Hand weeding using organic gardening methods
- Planting, pruning and seasonal garden care
- Lawn maintenance
- Hedge maintenance
- Border development and upkeep
- Wildflower meadow management
- Pond and water feature maintenance
- General landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Operation of horticultural machinery and equipment
The estate follows organic gardening principles, with an emphasis on sustainable land management and manual horticultural practices.
About You
Applicants must have previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Private estates
- Formal gardens
- Country houses
- Historic properties
- Landscape gardening
- Grounds maintenance
- Commercial horticulture
