Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled gardening & grounds maintenance operative to join our team. You will maintain and enhance outdoor spaces across multiple sites, ensuring gardens, lawns and communal areas remain safe, attractive and professionally cared for.
This is a full-time, self‑employed role, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
A full UK driving licence is required, as the company provides the vehicle, along with all tools, equipment and materials needed for the job. You do not need your own car.
Responsibilities
- Routine landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding and turf care
- Operation of power tools such as hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, blowers and edgers
- Irrigation system maintenance, including checks and troubleshooting
- Use of hand tools for planting, digging and general grounds upkeep
- Support with small construction tasks including fencing, decking or garden features
- Grounds inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs
- Seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, snow removal and planting schemes
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape/grounds maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge of power tools, irrigation systems and small machinery
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Construction experience (desirable)
- Familiarity with essential hand and power tools
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence — required
- Willing to work on a self‑employed basis
- No personal vehicle required — company vehicle provided
