Background
Our award-winning Court of Protection team is one of the largest specialist departments in the UK, acting for around 454 clients where our Trust Corporation or a solicitor is appointed as Deputy or Trustee. Ranked in both Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500, we support children, adults and their families, carers and professional support networks with Property and Financial Affairs Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts.
Working alongside case managers, healthcare professionals and financial advisers, we help manage our clients' financial affairs and make decisions in their best interests.
We are looking for a Solicitor (0–3 PQE) to join our nationally recognised team.
The role
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within one of the UK's leading Court of Protection teams. Working alongside experienced partners and solicitors, you will gain exposure to a broad range of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship and Personal Injury Trust matters while developing your own caseload.
You will support Deputies and Partners, build strong relationships with clients and professional contacts, and contribute to the continued growth of the team through business development and client relationship activities.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the management of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship matters.
- Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision.
- Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports.
- Supporting the day-to-day management of clients' financial affairs, including budgeting, payments and property transactions.
- Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
- Liaising with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and other professionals.
- Working closely with the department's paralegals and internal and external litigators.
- Attending client meetings and visits where appropriate.
- Developing knowledge of statutory wills, care funding and benefits.
Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:

Qualified Solicitor status in England and Wales with 0–3 years' PQE.
- A genuine interest in Court of Protection Property and Financial Affairs work.
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with the ability to build relationships with vulnerable clients and professionals.
- Strong organisational, drafting and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, collaborative and flexible approach.
- Experience using a case management system and recording time.
