Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team based in our purpose-built nursery setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with early childhood education principles
- Supervise children both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety at all times
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages learning through play and exploration
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development through personalised care and guidance
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise routines and special events
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Manage daily operational tasks including tidying up, setting up learning areas, and ensuring health and safety standards are met
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education frameworks and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also taking initiative independently
- Valid childcare qualifications or relevant nursery experience recognised by regulatory bodies
- Passion for working with children, patience, creativity, and organisational skills are essential
