The Opportunity:
In this fixed-term role in our busy Fees and Student Support Team, you will be key in ensuring the accuracy of tuition fee data for prospective and on programme students by providing high quality support. You will ensure monthly reconciliations are completed on tuition fee income from UK Government bodies and resolve any discrepancies promptly, making required adjustments to tuition fee records or liaising with funding bodies to ensure accurate assessment of student funding. The post-holder will ensure the creation and reporting of accurate records for sponsors and tuition fee debt coordinating with Finance Department and other colleagues, as needed.
You will have:
- Good numeracy skills and basic knowledge of financial accounting principles.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and experience of working as part of a team in a customer focussed environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end reconciliation process.
- Analytical skills, including Microsoft Excel skills to create and analyse multiple data sources.
- Ability to work with large datasets accurately and efficiently.
Experience of University of Edinburgh systems, including EUCLID/SITS/People and Money, is desirable.

This post is fixed-term (9 months), and part time (28 hours per week). We are open to requests for flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Most of the Fees and Student Support team work on a hybrid basis. The role holder will be expected at minimum to be on campus 2 days per week including each Wednesday for the team's weekly anchor day plus any additional days to attend any other in-person meetings, training or events.
We are open to this role being undertaken as an internal secondment (with agreement from the applicant’s current department.)
