We are looking for an organised and motivated Transport Coordinator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily deliveries, creating efficient delivery routes and ensuring our drivers have clear and accurate schedules.
You will use SmartRoutes route planning software to plan and optimise delivery routes, while working closely with drivers, warehouse staff and our customer service team to ensure deliveries run smoothly and on time.
This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, planning and working in a busy transport environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise daily delivery schedules using SmartRoutes.
- Create efficient delivery routes based on customer addresses, delivery requirements and driver availability.
- Allocate deliveries to drivers and provide clear daily schedules.
- Monitor delivery progress throughout the day.
- Make adjustments to routes and schedules when required.
- Communicate with drivers throughout their delivery runs.
- Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure orders are ready for dispatch.
- Coordinate with customer service regarding delivery queries and changes.
- Deal with delivery delays, failed deliveries and unexpected issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure drivers have all relevant delivery information before leaving the depot.
- Monitor driver performance and route completion.
- Maintain accurate transport and delivery records.
- Help identify ways to improve delivery efficiency and reduce unnecessary mileage and delays.

Experience
Previous experience in transport coordination, logistics, delivery planning, route planning or a similar role would be advantageous.
Experience using SmartRoutes or similar route-planning software is preferred, but full training can be provided for the right candidate.
