Hunters 4 Staff are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Heysham to recruit a Plate Rolling Machine Operative. This is a hands-on role in a busy production environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and wants to build a long-term career in fabrication. Experience with Plate rolling machines preferred. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important as experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Operating plate rolling machines to form steel into cylindrical and conical shapes
- Setting up and adjusting machine parameters for different materials and sizes
- Carrying out basic machine maintenance and helping resolve minor issues
- Handling and moving materials safely, including some heavy lifting
- Working closely with the team to keep production running smoothly
- Keeping your workspace clean, organised, and safe
What we're looking for:
- A positive, reliable attitude
- Plate roller experience desired
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
- Basic maths skills (measurements, diameters, circumference)
- Experience with hand tools or manufacturing work is helpful but not essential
- Good teamwork and communication skills
