Role Purpose
To provide friendly, efficient, and high-quality service to customers in the bar and restaurant, ensuring a positive guest experience at all times while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, allergen awareness, hygiene and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and take food and drink orders accurately
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
- Assist customers with menu choices, including advising on allergen information
- Handle payments and operate tills accurately
- Respond to customer queries and resolve issues politely and efficiently
- Willingness to undertake training in food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health & safety
- Compliance with licensing laws, including age-related alcohol sales (Challenge 25)
Bar & Restaurant Duties
- Prepare and serve drinks in line with licensing laws and company standards
- Assist with food service, clearing tables, and resetting dining areas
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of bar, restaurant, and service areas
- Replenish stock and report low supplies to supervisors
- Support opening and closing procedures as required
Allergen Awareness & Food Safety
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of food allergens and cross-contamination risks
- Accurately communicate allergen information to customers and colleagues
- Follow all food safety procedures, including correct storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks
- Immediately report any allergen-related concerns or incidents to management
- Comply with Food Standards Agency (FSA) and company allergen policies at all times
Health & Safety
- Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with hygiene standards
- Use equipment safely and report faults, hazards, or accidents promptly
- Follow manual handling guidelines to reduce risk of injury
- Support fire safety and emergency procedures
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail, particularly regarding allergens and safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Training & Compliance

Working Hours
- Part-time contract minimum of 16 hours per week
- Full-time contract 35 hours per week
Getting to work
- Due to location transport is required. There is no bus service.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
