We are looking for an experienced and motivated housekeeper who cleans to a very high standard to join our small business.
- The position is to provide part-time housekeeping for the 5* self-catering Hideaway properties. www.thehideawayexperience.co.uk
- The position requires the successful applicant to work between 2 and 3 shifts per week (Monday-Friday)
- Working hours will be no earlier than 10am and no later than 4pm, usually 3pm
- Each shift will vary between 3 hours and 4 hours, depending on the needs of the business.
- The position is based at The Hideaway Experience, Balkello Farm, Auchterhouse, By Dundee, DD3 0RA.
- Holidays are pro-rata 28 days including public holidays.

This Housekeeping position would suit an enthusiastic individual that enjoys working on their own but equally within a small team. The successful candidate will be required to work on their own initiative so must be highly motivated, a self-starter and have high levels of attention to detail. The Housekeeper will enjoy cleaning to a very high standard as this makes up a large part of the job. An ability to work within specific time scales to ensure Hideaways are ready in time for guest arrivals is essential. The successful candidate should be flexible in the availability to meet the needs of the business and will have a friendly and helpful disposition and relish the chance to work in an active job role.
A full clean driving licence and own vehicle is essential as we are not near public transport.
Job Description
The Part-Time Housekeeper would be expected to carry out the following tasks and have responsibility for the following areas of the Hideaway operations as follows.
Housekeeping Role
- Housekeeping after guests leave the Hideaway(s) and being able to clean to an extremely high five-star standard with first class attention to detail.
- Setting up welcome items for guests arriving and ensuring finishing touches are all in place including putting food and drink into the Hideaway.
- Self-checking of the Hideaways to ensure high levels of cleanliness and presentation for guest arrival are maintained by completing checklist paperwork.
- Stocking up the Hideaways with logs, kindlers and paper and setting the fire for guests.
- Checking facilities are in full working order (ie Sky, TV, Sonos, Sauna, Hot Tub)
- Making bread for guests.
- Monitoring the inventory and ensuring all items inside the Hideaways and cleaning equipment are present and in full working order.
- Reporting any property maintenance issues direct to management
- Bagging up laundry and labelling the laundry bags.
- Deep cleaning Hideaways when instructed.
- Decanting, cleaning and filling of hot tubs. Handling of hot tub chemicals
- Ensuring the BBQs, Firepits and gardens are neat and tidy
