Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team working regular night turn. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our reputation for excellence. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, including tail lift trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize efficiency and meet delivery schedules
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper securing of cargo, especially when handling tail lift deliveries
- Deliver goods directly to customers or designated locations, providing excellent customer service throughout the process
- Complete all necessary paperwork, delivery logs, and compliance documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs immediately
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record (minimum 2 years)
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with tail lift or similar vehicles
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Delivery driver experience with excellent navigation skills and route planning abilities
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members
