Transport Operations Coordinator/Account Manager
Location: Leicester – Thurmaston
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 basic + bonus + healthcare
Realistic OTE: £28,600 – £33,000
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transportation Operations Coordinator/Account Manager to join our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth transportation of goods, maintaining high standards of customer service, and driving efficiency within our logistics processes.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage all business collections with end to end responsibility, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers and customers to facilitate effective communication.
- Utilise logistics software and tools to track and monitor shipments in real time.
- Drive improvements in processes through problem-solving.
- Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.
- Organise schedules for shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Monitor emails and incoming calls to provide effective customer service.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including logs and records.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably required to achieve the companies objectives.
Requirements
- Ability to switch gears seamlessly and remain laser-focused under pressure, effectively managing multiple priorities during periods of high workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Previous experience in logistics or transport is a bonus but not essential (full training provided)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel for effective communication and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- A customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting client needs.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Flexible to support the business during busy periods through overtime
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly on your feet
- Ability to drive initiatives that enhance efficiency within the transportation process.
Shift Pattern (Rotating): 07:00 - 15:00 and 12:00 - 20:00
