Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert advice to patients, and ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with doctors' prescriptions and legal regulations.
- Provide professional advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, and potential contraindications.
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and patient interactions in accordance with data protection laws.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans.
- Ensure the pharmacy complies with all relevant legal, safety, and health regulations.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of medicines.
- Educate patients on the proper use of their medications and answer any related questions.
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Fully qualified Pharmacist registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Proven experience working as a Pharmacist within a community or hospital setting is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly to patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of current pharmaceutical legislation, health & safety standards, and best practices.
- Strong ethical standards with a commitment to patient confidentiality and care.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including occasional weekends or evenings if necessary.
