Minster Homecare York is a family-run domiciliary care company committed to providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Care Quality Assurance Lead to join our friendly management team.This is a varied role combining office-based quality assurance work with regular visits to customers and carers in the community. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and wider office team to ensure care is safe, person-centred and consistently delivered to a high standard.Key responsibilities
- Completing regular spot checks, supervisions, appraisals and competency assessments with care staff.
- Assessing competencies in areas including medication administration, moving and handling, catheter care and stoma care.
- Reviewing customer care plans and risk assessments to ensure they are accurate, person-centred and regularly updated.
- Completing audits of medication records, care notes, incident forms, body maps and other care documentation.
- Monitoring the quality of care delivered and ensuring concerns or areas for improvement are promptly addressed.
- Supporting the investigation of incidents, accidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
- Supporting new care staff through their induction, shadowing and Care Certificate.
- Providing guidance, coaching and practical support to carers in the community.
- Obtaining feedback from customers, relatives and staff.
- Ensuring actions identified through audits, observations or investigations are completed within the required timescales.
- Supporting the service to maintain compliance with CQC regulations, company policies and best practice.
- Working collaboratively with the Registered Manager, care coordinators and other members of the management team.
- Taking part in the out-of-hours on-call rota, including evenings and weekends, and responding appropriately to emergencies, staff absences and operational concerns.
- Delivering care where necessary to support customers and maintain continuity of service.
About youWe are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in domiciliary care.
- Has experience in a senior carer, field care supervisor, care coordinator or quality assurance role.
- Has a strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, medication management, infection control and accurate record keeping.
- Is confident completing observations, competency assessments and providing constructive feedback.
- Can identify concerns and take appropriate action rather than overlooking poor practice.
- Has good organisational skills and can manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Is confident using electronic care-planning and record-keeping systems.
- Communicates professionally with customers, relatives, carers and external professionals.
- Is reliable, approachable and able to lead by example.
- Is flexible and willing to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Holds or is working towards a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care. A higher-level qualification would be advantageous.
- Has a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as regular travel within the community is required.
