Job Description:
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Milk Tanker Driver to work on a 4 on 4 off basis including 3 nights out per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of dairy products, ensuring timely deliveries to various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to road regulations, and excellent driving skills. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated logistics environment, supporting the smooth distribution of essential products.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 fridge lorries in accordance with all road safety and company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload chilled and ambientproducts at designated sites, ensuring proper handling and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Comply with all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation of goods.
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management.
- Assist with loading and unloading as necessary, including handling flatbed trailers if required.
- Must be willing to work on a rolling 4 on 4 shift pattern and complete 3 nights out per week.
- Early afternoon start times between 12:00-15:00 depending on your run loaction.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with delivery vehicles or lorries.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting dairy or similar products.
- Experience with mil tanker is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to plan routes effectively and adapt to changing schedules.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail for record keeping and vehicle inspections.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards throughout all operations.
Pay: £170.00-£200.00 per day
