Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operations across various departments, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This position is suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within a dynamic working environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday 07:00am - 16:00pm (2 x 30 minute breaks per shift) 42.5 hours per week
Duties
- Comply with all policies, guidance’s and procedures set out by the company.
- Act in the best interests of the company and support both your line manager and the leadership team.
- Promote Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Efficiently and safely trim and extract all precious metal containing substrates as detailed in the companies’ safe systems of work.
- Undertake any machines checks and safely and responsibly work on the machines making a supervisor or engineering team aware of any machine faults.
- Working as part of a team
- Aid in the efficient production flow of materials in receiving, processing and despatch.
- Any reasonable ad-hoc duties as required by the needs of the business.
- Supporting the business by working in required departments, but not limited to ( Platform Cutting, Grading, Barcode, Sampling, Door buy, Plasma Cutting) some duties may be repetitive
- Supporting the business where required in ISO and CMS requirements
- With guidance from the management team, to ensure employees adhere to the Environmental Permit
- Supporting the Management team with day-to-day requirements
Working Environment
- Site-based, industrial environment
- Day shift with overtime available ad-hoc
- Exposure to machinery, noise, dusty conditions
- Wearing of Air Fed respirators required to be worn whilst working in the factory
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in industrial setting
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as required
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods
Qualifications
- Fork Lift Licence (desirable)
