ROLE: Waste Operative
HOURS: 40 hours a week
LOCATION: Wirral

We're looking for a Waste Operative whose primary responsibility will involve the collection, movement, sorting, processing, and dispatch of waste and other materials, both as part of routine scheduled activities and in response to ad hoc client requests.
The successful candidate will be required to load, unload and organise both hazardous and non‑hazardous waste from collection points throughout the site, ensuring all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.
In addition, the role includes liaising directly with the client to fulfil ad hoc waste collection requests, conducting regular litter picks in working areas to maintain cleanliness, and ensuring high standards of tidiness are upheld across the site.
Role Responsibilities:
Collect, move, sort, process, and dispatch waste and other materials as part of both routine scheduled activities and ad hoc client requests.
Load, unload and organise hazardous and non‑hazardous waste from collection points throughout the site.
Complete daily check sheets for all equipment used.
Report unsafe conditions, acts, near misses, incidents, or accidents promptly via the appropriate reporting systems.
Manually lift and move large or bulky items safely.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Fork Lift Truck Licence.
Previous manual handling training.
Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to ensure safe operation in a potentially hazardous environment.
Previous experience in the waste industry.
