If this is you, then Westbourne care home are recruiting for an Activities Coordinator.
Working as part of the overall team, your role is essential to the residents’ sense of wellbeing and social stimulation playing a key part in ensuring the routines and daily activities they undertake are varied, invigorating and fun.
- Create an energising environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for our residents which will enable them to celebrate and embrace life.
- Plan and devise imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability.
- Source and book external entertainment in line with the Home’s budget.
- Review and evaluate the activities programme so that it is kept up to date and fit for purpose.
- Work closely with residents, staff and others involved in the organising and the running of events.
- Operate Social Media Accounts to reassure the families their loved ones are being entertained
Job Types: Bank Hours
Salary: £12.71 per hour
```Duties:```
- Plan, organize, and implement a variety of engaging activities for residents in an assisted living and nursing home setting
- Develop and maintain a monthly activities calendar that offers a diverse range of programs and events
- Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and social outings
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of residents
- Provide individualized attention and support to residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being

```Requirements:```
- Previous experience in senior care or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Ability to plan and organize activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents and create a sense of community
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards older adults
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules
