Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our logistics team on a self employed basis to carry out multi-drop routes. We are a contractor of DHL Express. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring excellent customer service throughout each shift. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of our delivery services.
we will supply vans and fuel for any successful candidates.
The candidate will need to have a disclosure scotland certificate and need 5 years HMRC Records or 5 years employment references.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Collect and verify delivery orders, ensuring accuracy before dispatching
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
- Deliver parcels, documents, or goods to clients at specified locations within designated timeframes
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and documentation as required
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery status or issues
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of multi-drop driving practice
- Valid driver’s licence, with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Organised with good time management skills to meet tight schedules
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area of operation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
