The successful candidate will also be expected to attend any annual medical induction, emergency
action planning or operational briefing sessions organised by the Club.
Opportunities may be available to attend training sessions, multidisciplinary meetings and
continuing professional development activities within the wider Wolves medical department,
although these activities are not a requirement of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the designated Matchday Doctor for all Men’s/ Women's First Team & Boy’s Academy
home fixtures.
Provide an excellent standard of medical care to players and others as required within the
scope of the role.
Deliver Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) provision in
accordance with FA, League and Club requirements.
Implement and operate the Club's Matchday Medical Emergency Action Plan (MEAP) and
work effectively alongside ambulance services, emergency responders and stadium staff.
Assess, diagnose and manage acute illness, injury and medical emergencies occurring on
matchdays.
Lead the medical management of suspected concussion and ensure compliance with current
FA concussion protocols and return-to-play procedures.
Maintain familiarity with and adhere to FA anti-doping regulations, procedures and
operational requirements, supporting anti-doping activity where required.
Prescribe, supply and administer medications appropriately and in accordance with GMC
guidance, Club policies and relevant legislation.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records relating to all consultations, injuries, illnesses
and incidents occurring during matchday duties.
Communicate effectively with players, coaches, physiotherapists and other stakeholders
regarding medical issues affecting player welfare and availability.
Work collaboratively with the Women's Lead Physiotherapist/ Men’s Physiotherapist and
wider multidisciplinary team to support player health, wellbeing and performance.
Maintain the readiness of emergency medical equipment and medications provided by the
Club and report any deficiencies appropriately.
Maintain professional standards in accordance with GMC guidance and best clinical practice.
Undertake continuing professional development and maintain all qualifications required to
fulfil the role.
