We provide remediation, groundworks, substructure, and reinforced concrete structures.
Job summary:
We are looking to appoint an accounts manager who will play a key role in managing the day to day finance function, producing management accounts, maintaining and building upon robust financial processes and controls. This role will work with the head of finance and Managing Director and will manage the day to day finance operations and team. It would suit someone who enjoys working in an SME environment where systems and processes continue to evolve whilst being very hands on and working with a small team.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Prepare and submit VAT returns and CIS returns on a monthly basis
Maintaining monthly schedules including full balance sheet reconciliations and reporting packs
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
Credit control and managing accounts receivable
Managing and mentoring a small finance team including accounts and finance admin staff
Reviewing transactional finance work including purchase ledger, sales ledger, subcontractors and reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations across the business including journals, accruals and prepayments
Assisting the year end processes and audit
Job costing and reporting
Improving finance processes, controls and reporting
Providing insight and support to senior management
What we're looking for:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, AAT or CIMA) or exceptional QBE with proven management accounting experience
Experience working within the construction industry is highly desirable but not essential
Experience producing management accounts and job costing/reporting
Experience working within an SME
Strong excel and financial reporting skills
Experience using Sage and Construct are highly desirable but not essential
Organised, calm, proactive and able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a commitment to high standards
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a small team
Pay: £40,000.00 per year
