The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role that blends daily warehouse duties with rewarding repair work. You will start with core warehouse operations like loading and order picking. However, we want this role to quickly focus on product inspection and hands-on repairs. You do not need prior experience with glass.
We will provide full, comprehensive training. What we need is your natural handy skills, an inquisitive mind, and the patience to fix things properly. If you love figure out how things work and restoring items to a high standard, this role offers a great long-term path with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Repairs: Inspect glass products, find faults, and carry out hands-on repairs to restore them to perfect condition.
- Problem Solving: Figure out why a product is damaged and work out the best practical way to fix it.
- Safe Logistics: Safely load delivery vehicles with fragile glass products.
- Inbound Stock: Unload incoming manufacturer containers and deliveries.
- Inventory Handling: Move stock safely using manual handling techniques and warehouse equipment.
- Order Picking: Accurately pick and prepare warehouse stock for dispatch.
- Housekeeping: Take pride in keeping the warehouse, workshop, and yard clean, organised, and safe.
What We Are Looking For
- A "Fix-It" Mindset: Natural practical skills and experience using tools or doing basic DIY.
- Pride in Your Work: A sharp eye for detail and a desire to do a thorough, high-quality job.
- Physical Capability: High physical fitness, as you will be doing heavy manual lifting of glass.
- Reliability: A highly dependable attitude with a proven track record of excellent punctuality.
- Forklift Licence: Highly desirable, though we will provide training for the right candidate.
