Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative with forklift driving capabilities to join our dynamic logistics team. Working within a busy pallet distribution environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of freight throughout the warehouse, ensuring customer consignments are handled accurately and dispatched on time.
The role requires an individual who is reliable, safety-conscious and capable of working effectively within a fast-paced operation.
Duties
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a counterbalance forklift truck
- Receiving, checking and booking in incoming freight
- Sorting, scanning and locating pallets within the warehouse
- Preparing consignments for onward distribution
- Ensuring freight is loaded safely and securely to minimise damage
- Identifying and reporting damaged freight or discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate warehouse records and scanning information
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Following all company health and safety procedures
- Assisting with general warehouse duties as required
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience working within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Minimum 1 year's experience operating a counterbalance forklift truck
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Desirable Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
- Experience within the pallet distribution industry
- Previous experience using warehouse scanning systems
- Knowledge of pallet network operations
