Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our catering operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and high-quality food. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality and catering industry, working in a fast-paced environment that values professionalism and attention to detail. The Ideal candidate would have enough availability to do an average amount of 30 hours a week spread over 5 days.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations to meet event specifications
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring high standards of guest service
- Support food preparation activities, including plating, garnishing, and maintaining cleanliness in food handling areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
- Replenish supplies during events to ensure smooth service delivery
- Clear tables and assist with the cleaning of utensils, crockery, and serving equipment after events
- Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless catering experiences for clients
- Assist with organising stock levels and storage of catering supplies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with guests and team members
- Ability to work flexibly, including during weekends or evenings if required
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and customer service excellence
