Part Time Beauty Therapist & Retail Skincare Advisor
Location: Sutton, London
Hours: 3 days per week (1.30pm - 5.30pm, about 13.5 hours per week with the option to scale up as demand grows)
Pay : £13 to £13.50 per hour, depending on experience
Additional pay: 10% commission on treatments personally performed
About Skinfidence
Skinfidence is a new skincare , haircare and clean beauty destination in Sutton, combining carefully curated skincare products with personalised advice, skin analysis and targeted beauty treatments.
We are looking for a qualified Beauty Therapist who is equally comfortable providing treatments, advising customers and helping to run a beautiful retail space.
This is a varied role for someone who genuinely loves skincare, understands different skin types and tones, especially black and brown skin tones and enjoys helping customers find solutions that work for them.
What you’ll be doing
Your time will be split between looking after the retail store and providing booked beauty treatments.
Skincare & Retail
- Welcome customers and understand their skincare concerns
- Provide personalised skincare and product recommendations
- Carry out skin consultations and support AI skin analysis
- Confidently explain and recommend products from our curated brands
- Process customer purchases and operate the till Keep the store clean, organised and beautifully presented
- Replenish products and help manage stock Work towards store sales targets
- Build relationships with customers and encourage repeat visits
Beauty Treatments
Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may provide:
- Express facials
- Facial massage
- Lash lifts and tints
- Brow treatments
- LED facial treatments
- Other suitable express beauty treatments
Our initial treatment offering will focus on services that can be delivered within our compact skincare studio, with the opportunity to expand the treatment menu as Skinfidence grows.
What we’re looking for
- Level 2 or Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, or equivalent
- Professional beauty treatment experience Strong knowledge of skincare and ingredients Experience and confidence working with Black, African and other melanin rich skin tones
- Understanding of concerns including hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory pigmentation, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable recommending and selling skincare products
- High standards of hygiene and professionalism
- Reliable, organised and confident working independently
- Commercially minded and comfortable working towards sales targets
Experience with facial treatments, skin analysis, lash treatments or facial massage would be particularly welcome.
The person we’re looking for
We want someone warm, knowledgeable and confident who can make customers feel comfortable asking questions about their skin.
You should enjoy both sides of the role. On a quiet treatment day, you should be happy engaging customers, recommending products and looking after the store. When a treatment is booked, you should be confident switching into therapist mode and delivering an excellent client experience.
Most importantly, we want someone who understands that skincare isn’t one size fits all and can confidently work with customers across different skin tones and concerns.
