Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Head Chef to lead the culinary team at a vibrant, community-focused pub. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation while maintaining a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing clear direction, mentorship, and support to foster a motivated and efficient workforce
- Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet high standards
- Manage food production schedules to ensure timely service without compromising quality
- Develop and update menus that reflect current trends while respecting traditional recipes and customer preferences
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize profitability
- Train staff on proper food handling techniques, cooking methods, and serving procedures to enhance overall service quality
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a busy restaurant or pub environment with strong team management skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a solid background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead a kitchen team effectively while maintaining high standards of hospitality
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for hygiene and sanitation
- Excellent skills in food production, menu development, and presentation artistry
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Experience in managing kitchen operations including inventory control and cost management.
Pay: Up to £47,000.00 per year
