Little Kickers is looking for energetic football coaches to deliver fun, structured sessions for children aged 18 months to 8 years across our Essex venues.
Personality is a major part of this role. We need coaches who can create excitement, make children feel welcome and bring plenty of energy to every class.
However, this is still a football coaching role. You must understand basic football skills and be confident teaching them to young children in a simple, enjoyable and age-appropriate way.
What the role involves
You will deliver structured Little Kickers sessions that combine fun, imagination and football development.
You will help children learn skills such as:
- Dribbling and close ball control
- Passing and receiving
- Shooting
- Movement, balance and coordination
- Listening and following instructions
- Playing simple games with others
Our youngest children learn mainly through play and imagination, while older children receive more direct football coaching and opportunities to apply their skills in games.
You will also:
- Create a positive and exciting atmosphere
- Demonstrate football activities clearly
- Keep children active and engaged
- Adapt activities for different ages and abilities
- Encourage every child to participate
- Communicate confidently with parents
- Follow the provided Little Kickers session plans
- Set up and pack away equipment
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment

- Available to work weekend mornings
- Able to travel to one or more of our Essex venues
You do not need to have played football professionally. You do need enough football knowledge and ability to demonstrate the basic skills correctly.
The successful candidate will be able to balance two important parts of the role:
Making every session fun and memorable while helping children genuinely develop their football skills.
Qualifications and experience
Previous experience in football coaching, childcare, teaching or working with children would be useful.
It would be ideal if you hold:
- FA Level 1 in Coaching Football
- Introduction to Coaching Football qualification
- FA Playmaker Certificate
- Another relevant football coaching qualification
Applicants without a formal qualification may still be considered if they have the right personality, football knowledge and ability to work with children. Full Little Kickers training will be provided.
A suitable enhanced DBS check will be required.

Locations
The exact venues and working hours will depend on your location, availability and our current staffing requirements. You do not necessarily need to cover every area, but candidates who can travel between venues will have access to more hours.
