We deliver Health & Social Care training across Birmingham, the Black Country, and surrounding areas from our head office in Sutton Coldfield.
We’re passionate about training the next generation of amazing carers while helping existing care professionals maintain their skills and competency through refresher and specialist training.
Please note: This is a fully site-based role and is NOT a remote or hybrid position. The successful candidate will deliver face-to-face teaching, assessment and learner support in classroom and workplace care settings, with regular travel across Birmingham, the Black Country and surrounding areas.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and engaging Lead Trainer / Advanced Practitioner to deliver outstanding Health & Social Care training whilst supporting quality improvement, curriculum excellence and the development of other trainers.
Alongside delivering training programmes, you will play a key role in mentoring colleagues, championing best practice and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will deliver:
- Health & Social Care qualifications at Levels 1–3 (government-funded and commercial programmes)
- Refresher training for professionals to maintain skills and compliance
- Stand-alone training sessions in a range of care-related topics
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering face-to-face training and assessment in classroom and workplace care settings (no “death by PowerPoint”)
- Assessing learners’ knowledge and skills and providing constructive feedback
- Supporting continuous learner progress and maintaining accurate records
- Mentoring and coaching Trainer Assessors and Aspiring Trainers
- Supporting induction, standardisation and quality improvement activities
- Acting as a subject matter expert within your specialist area
- Supporting curriculum development and enhancement of learning resources
- Monitoring learner outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Working closely with the Quality Team to support compliance, inspection readiness and organisational objectives
- Leading by example and promoting outstanding professional practice
- Collaborating with colleagues to enhance training programmes and share best practice
- Supporting organisational CPD initiatives and workforce development
- Staying updated with industry standards and compliance requirements
- Taking ownership of quality outcomes and learner experience
- A flexible approach to delivery is required, including occasional evening or weekend training where required
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years' experience in the Health & Social Care sector (Essential)
- At least 3 years' experience delivering teaching, training and/or assessment (Essential)
- Experience delivering training and/or assessing care qualifications in a classroom or workplace care setting (Essential)
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting colleagues (Essential)
- A Teaching qualification (AET or equivalent/higher) (Essential)
- An Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/33) (Essential)
- An IQA qualification (Desirable)
- Confidence, enthusiasm and commitment to CPD (Essential)
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Demonstrable ability to drive quality improvements and share best practice
- Access to your own car and willingness to travel across Birmingham & the Black Country (Essential)
- Willingness and ability to deliver face-to-face teaching and assessment in classroom and workplace settings (Essential)

- Salary £34,000–£39,000 per annum, dependent on experience, qualifications and leadership responsibilities
