Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient utilisation of resources
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
- Monitor food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menus and optimise existing offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste effectively
- Assist in training new team members in food production, preparation, and service standards
Skills
- Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong leadership and team management skills with supervising experience
- Expertise in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members and management
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving procedures is advantageous
