The Role
The holder of this post must hold a minimum of the QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People and have a minimum of 2 years EBD Childrens Residential experience
Main Duties
· To provide leadership and positive role modelling to your team at all times.
· To support the Homes Manager and Deputy Manager in the efficient and safe operational functioning of the home.
· To support the out of hours operation of the home, by participating in on call duties as required in company policy.
· To support the manager with additional administration duties and production of critical documentation as required.
· To complete supervisions and appraisals with care staff in order to support the development of the individual and the service.
· To be accountable and responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all children, staff and environment, in the absence of the manager.
· To undertake handovers and ensure that all medication and finances are accounted for daily.
· To lead the shift and effectively delegate duties to the staff team, in line with all live plans, assessments or policies.
· To support the manager in recruitment, induction and disciplinary procedures as required.
· To encourage, mentor and support all staff members
· To follow the Personal Plan and individual assessments of each young person.
· To support the young person in daily tasks such as cooking of meals, cleaning, monitoring of hygiene, leisure activities and basic life skills.
· To assist with the day-to-day running of the home and ensure a high standard of hygiene and safety,
· To assist young people to maintain positive contact with their families, friends, and other significant people, as identified in the young person’s Personal Plan.
· To support, advise and monitor young people’s health and wellbeing.
· To encourage and support young people in expressing their views, wishes and concerns
· To assist young people to develop appropriate behaviour using encouragement, praise, rewards, and role modelling.
· To provide care, which is consistent with the services Statement of Purpose
· To act as a Key Worker for a young person. This is to include responsibilities such as:
o Arranging individual time with a young person to enable them seek guidance, advice, and support on any matter
o Monitoring the individual Personal Plan and the Risk Management Plans
o Monitoring that the young person’s live documentation is up to date
o Ensuring that the young person’s health, cultural and religious needs are being met
o Ensuring that the young person’s leisure and social needs are being met
o Undertaking specific therapeutic care tasks as directed by the Homes Manager or Therapy Team
- 40 hour per week contract with on calls
Salary: £30,680 per annum
Sleep in rate is £55 per night, this is additional to salary.
Shift Pattern:
15-hour shifts plus sleep in on a fixed rolling rota
MUST HAVE A VALID UK DRIVING LICENCE
