Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser / Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring accurate medication administration. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting patient health and safety within a busy pharmacy environment. Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with a strong commitment to patient care and medication safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently
- Provide guidance to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment and expiry date checks
- Ensure all prescriptions are correctly labelled and documented in compliance with legal and safety standards
- Support medication administration processes where applicable, ensuring adherence to protocols
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe pharmacy environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Relevant certification or registration as a pharmacy technician (where applicable)
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism
Pay: £8.00-£15.00 per hour
