We are now looking for a Technical Textile Specialist to join our professional Technical Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with textile laboratory, manufacturing or quality control experience who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting customers and contributing to innovative product development.
The Role
Working closely with colleagues across Technical, Innovation, Sales and Test Materials, you will provide first-class technical support to our global customers, agents and distributors. You will also play a key role in new and existing product development, supporting testing, standards compliance, product evaluation and the continuous improvement of our instruments and test materials.
What you will be doing
· Providing technical support for textile testing instruments and test materials through our online support system.
· Carrying out customer testing, evaluating and interpreting results, preparing reports and making clear recommendations.
· Supporting new product development and existing product development projects within your technical specialism.
· Helping to ensure our instruments remain aligned with relevant textile standards, retailer test methods and customer requirements.
· Producing and updating Operator Guides, test matrices, work instructions and laboratory procedures as required.
· Delivering training, demonstrations and technical support to colleagues, customers and partners, including at exhibitions, seminars and customer visits.
· Testing and evaluating new, redesigned and competitor instruments, and supporting project sign-off activity.
· Working collaboratively with the Test Materials Team, Innovation Team and wider business to solve technical issues and identify continuous improvements.
· Ensuring laboratory equipment is operating correctly, within calibration and in line with Health & Safety requirements.
About you
You will be a practical, customer-focused textile professional who enjoys applying technical knowledge to solve problems and support others. You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills and the ability to engage with different audiences, cultures and customer needs.
We are looking for someone who has
· Experience within a textile laboratory, textile manufacturing or quality control environment.
· A degree, equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience in textiles or a related subject.
· Experience using textile testing instruments; experience within a UKAS accredited laboratory would be an advantage.
· Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
· The ability to communicate technical information clearly, accurately and professionally.
· A proactive approach to continuous improvement, problem solving and customer support.
