Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our logistics team. Duties
- Operate HGV Class 1 trucks with curtain sided trailers on long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal standards
- Secure loads properly on Curtain side trailers, ensuring stability during transit and compliance with weight distribution guidelines
- Plan routes efficiently to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during trips
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, representing the company positively during interactions with clients and other road users
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with up-to-date CPC certification for commercial driving
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role, preferably with flatbed operations
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for securing loads on flatbeds
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as load securing and vehicle inspections
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules across long-distance routes
- Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with dispatch teams
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends as needed
