Waverley Day Nursery is currently recruiting a Lunch Cover Nursery Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team, working with children aged 3 months to 4 years in our inspiring, child-led, family-oriented setting.
Based within Waverley Preparatory School, our nursery is surrounded by woodland and open spaces. We boast individual nursery gardens, a Forest School and daily woodland walks, encouraging children to explore, discover and develop a lifelong love of learning.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is looking for part-time hours within a welcoming and professional environment. Whether you are beginning a career in childcare or already hold an Early Years qualification, we would love to hear from you.
Monday – Friday | 11:30am – 2:30pm | Ideally 51 weeks per year
Salary:
- Unqualified: £8,700 – £9,725 per annum
- Qualified (Level 2/3): £11,000 per annum
The Role
As our Lunch Cover Nursery Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our nursery teams during one of the busiest parts of the day. Duties include:
- Supporting children during lunchtime, encouraging independence and good eating habits.
- Assisting with children's personal care and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Helping to supervise children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Supporting children's learning through play and child-led activities.
- Working alongside colleagues to ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
Waverley Day Nursery is a very successful setting, where the Managers believe strongly in rewarding staff and aiding professional development. This is a diverse role with duties including:
- being responsible for a Key group of children
- aiding child-led development
- assisting our Forest School outings
- communicating with parents
- supporting activities within the facilities of the School

2. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
