We are seeking a newly qualified Criminal Lawyer to join our legal team. Having Police station accreditation will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in criminal cases, providing legal advice, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for those they serve. Duties
- Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including trials, hearings, and plea negotiations.
- Conduct thorough case investigations by reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and gathering pertinent information.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and appeals with precision and clarity.
- Advise clients on their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes of their cases.
- Negotiate plea agreements and other settlement options with prosecutors to secure favourable results for clients.
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents affecting criminal law practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues and experts to develop effective defence strategies.
- Attend court proceedings regularly and represent clients professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor specialising in criminal law with relevant practising certification.
- Proven experience in criminal defence or prosecution work is desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients’ interests during plea bargaining or settlement discussions.
- Excellent organisational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism and composure in court settings.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly articulate complex legal concepts.
- A commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software is advantageous.

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
