Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Night Carer to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality overnight care and support to residents in a care home environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Your leadership skills and caring nature will help create a secure, respectful, and nurturing atmosphere for our residents during the night hours. Duties
- Supervise and support care staff during night shifts, ensuring high standards of resident care are maintained at all times
- Monitor residents’ safety, health, and well-being through regular checks and observations
- Implement and review individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, updating them as necessary
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations or urgent resident needs during the night
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and any changes in their care requirements
- Communicate clearly with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
- Use IT systems to document care activities, update records, and manage schedules efficiently
Experience
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, team members, and external professionals
- Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Knowledge of IT systems used for record-keeping and communication within healthcare environments
- Valid driving license preferred but not essential; ability to assist with transportation if required
- Demonstrated understanding of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations related to senior care
