Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to provide academic support and guidance to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tutoring or teaching, with experience working with children, including those with special educational needs. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for KS3 & GCSE students.
- Differentiate between KS3 and GCSE, ensuring age-appropriate, challenging, and enjoyable sessions.
- Prepare students for exams by teaching strong subject knowledge and exam technique.
- Maintain high standards of lesson delivery in line with Hunter Tutoring systems and training.
- Support a positive learning environment in small-group classes (maximum of 4 students).
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with children.
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Comfortable teaching all three sciences to secondary students.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for Science education.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Available to teach both Saturdays and Sundays (10:30–15:00).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for education.
